About Dr. Carrión
Dr. Albert Carrión is a urologist at Vall d'Hebron University Hospital in Barcelona, where he practises within the Urothelial Carcinoma Unit and the robotic surgery programme, and a urologist at the Serrate Ribal Urology Institute (Mi Tres Torres Clinic).
He trained at Hospital Clínic de Barcelona, where he received the MSD award for best resident of his graduating class, and completed his training with a European Association of Urology scholarship at University College London Hospital. He holds a PhD in Medicine from the University of Barcelona (excellent cum laude) with a thesis on prognostic biomarkers in prostate cancer.
Since 2021 he has been a member of the European Urology Guidelines expert panel on muscle-invasive and metastatic bladder cancer — the panel's only representative from Spain — and since 2025 an Associate Professor at the Autonomous University of Barcelona.
